Gearbox Oil?

07 Oct 2018, 06:25

Hi, does anybody know what is the best suitable gearbox oil to use on a Corsa Classic Sedan 1.4i. It's a 2001 corsa B shape. I'm not sure of what gearbox it has.

And as far as I have seen, there is a bolt with a plastic cover on the top of the gearbox for filling it into, that I have managed to find, but apparently there's another smaller bolt at the side to check the level (if oil comes out this second bolt, then it has enough gearbox oil). Can anybody advise/assist where to find this bolt?

I have a slow leak and gears are getting harder and don't feel too smooth anymore.

So to sum up, what's the best gearbox oil (type and brand) and where is the flippen bolt at the side??

Thanks

Can't give you a definitive brand or anything, but if you go to Goldwagen then you can get the gearbox oil there and they actually sell decent oils.

On the gearbox, almost right next to where your shaft pops in there is a bolt. It's just above the diff casing and you'll see it doesn't really bolt anything together.
Hopefully i remember later and i'll take a pic for you
