Good day fellow Opel fanatics hope everybody is doing well, I have question if I may...
I have a 2005 Astra H GSI and the water pump recently gave in and caused a blow head gasket etc.
The head was done, new big ends, piston rings, water pump and welsh plugs as well as cambelt and service.
Now after getting my car back I noticed its in protection mode constantly so I did diagnostic, only to find the cam sensor needs replacing. Then yesterday the car started smoking like crazy only( only when I would lift off the loud pedal but by the end of the day it smoked in idle and even more so when it got up to temp, my question is: Do I now have to get a new set of piston rings, headbolts and gasket? The workshop owner seems to think the car need to "run in" the new rings....btw this morning I saw the car had almost no oil in it after it received a 4.5l a week ago.
