Hey guys

I just wanted to know if there is any potential with the motor in the Corsa C. It has a 1.8 8v motor.
Inputs would be appreciated.

Sorry, performance wise. Is there any potential to get power out of the motor. Because 79kw from a 1.8 seems bad in my opinion

My 2l only pushed 95kw when standard. Most only push aroun 80 - 85kw...

The performance compared to a 2l is negligent when compared against fuel economy as well. If you do the right mods you will be surprised at the performance possibities of any motor. 8v have tremendous acceleration abilities and with the right gearbox you will have good top end as well.

A nice exhaust, k&n filter in the standard airbox (not a cone filter as it will suck in hot air, or even bugs and/or water if put behind the bumper wrong), maybe a management system and you will be flying. :)

My standard 2l 8v with a good filter and exhaust ran way from my dads 1.8l turbo s13 200sx at pull away, and although he passed me at about 180km/h, his top end was only around 220, while my modded f16 box took me to +- 260.

All motors have potential. You just have to do the right things. :duim:

Awesome man. I just wanted to find out what could be done. My car has quite a bit of torque standard already. 160nm to be exact. I don't want to do anything major. I always wanted a k&n filter that fits in my standard box. didn't think it would be worth replacing it with an aftermarket induction kit.

My cousin had a Corsa C GSi with only an aftermarket branch fitted. Needless to say, he gave quite a few guys hidings when he used to race. I was always passenger.

Branch, exhaust, filter, chip it maybe...& you'll have a reasonably quick C

Depends where you go too. Average price you looking at is +- R1400

If you do your exhaust, add a 4-2-1 branch as well.

What you can do is your exhaust, 2 box system with a branch.
Sort out your induction.
Look after your motor. Service it well. Use good oil and you will never have a problem with your lifters.

Maybe we can take on each other in other Classic C's...

See what is what..?? :fight2: :fight2: :fight2:

Like I said, the sx passed me before I got there. It did take a bit longer than I would've liked. No where near Supie territory but it wasn't the motor mods that did it, it's the modded gearbox. Not sure what the ratio was, but as far as i know it was an f16 box with a modded final drive. Very long 5th gear..

That may be possible man, Just looking at my Kadett all there is, is a Freeflow 1box, Branches and a weber carb, I get my car upto 210km/h with a 1.4, then I run out of gears with the 4 speed box. :ninja:

You rate the stock branch on that corsa is good enough?

Yes. Dunno why people bugger with these crappy branches anymore.
