Can a person re-use that paper intake gasket after removing the intake?

Yes, you can, unless it is damaged (It normally breaks when you remove it)

With some copper spray product you can even reuse head gaskets :claugh: (It works, I have used it.)

Nice. Coz i did reuse it after i redid the head coz i hit some intake valves. now the car either idles low like 700rpm, or high 1500rpm, now its about 1200rpm. I cheked all the intake pipes, Idle control valve is fine. No errors on the ECU except for the usual 12, 31, 55.

Timing is also correct. There was a time that the car did idle at the correct speed after i reseted the ecu. I also replaced the fuel preasure regulator with a one i modified to be adjustable. i adjusted it to be about 2.9 bar. can a low preasure cause the car to have eratic idle? I also cleaned the throttle plug, AFM plug, Temp plug. I dont know any more. The spark plugs are nice and brown. so sparks are good. wen i drive the car, it pulls like normal.

vacuum pipes are all fine. Im thinking its either the fuel preasure, intake manifold, or the throttle sensor.

it could just be leaking at the reused gasket, the high idle is definitely a vacuum/intake leak.

Ok. Ill try to seal it without taking it off. Ill just smeer gasket maker around where the intake and head meets.

first spray Q20 or similar (or carb cleaner etc) around the gasket and see if the revs pick up more.

If it does, it is leaking

You are not going to be that lucky, you will have to strip again.

Am I reading your post correct? You don't want to take the intake off, and will just put gasket maker on the outside of the join?

If so... good luck. That is a proper botch job. Rather take it off and install new gasket. Or, put the sealant on the mating surfaces.
