 Post subject: lift bumper

Hi peeps .......ive noticed that alot of 2.litre is's front bumper drops over the years .....and mine 2 ....where r the bolts to loosen the bumper so i can raise it again Question ....its about a 20mm gap at the moment and it looks k@k so i wanna get it back to right up against the lights Wink

it tends to droop , either is knocked , of mostly if the plastic clips are damaged that hold the bumper up . .

you smaak your heavy DIY stuff ne , make sure you have a buddy with you to help ..

2 bolts, jack up + look underneath in arches - by front lights. 2 nr13 bolts. 2 more bolts on the sides (by fenders) (nr 10's?), sure you will see them.

don't think that will help - not much adjustment. bumper probably broken away from the front protection bar(connected to bumper).

that or as Mr lupini said probably knocked so when repaired chassis welded to low.

nah gouraami ...u can feel and see when a car has been knocked b4 ....and u can see on the chassis if it has been welded again....i dont see any of that on my cabbie ....but thanks i will see if i can lift it using ur info ....THANX BRA

my friend used cable ties on his T-car and pulls it as tight as possible. it looks great like that and i'm gonna do the same thing tomorrow when i put my new bumper on.

You put two cable ties for each hole where there is suppose to be a bolt and tighten according to the amount of lift you want.

Reversed out of a steep driveway yesterday and I almost lost my whole bumper! Crying or Very sad

Now it's lookin real sh#tty Confused seems as if the clip on the one side have broken off this time. Sad

guys try it out and see how it works... and my friend done this with his turbo supie and it's working fine. i will be doing it with my new bumper tonight

i did it myself yesterday ...looks a whole lot better ...had a gap of about 30 mm now 5 mm ...looking good again ...thanx gouraami

could you simply adjust the bolts? lucky you, doubt its been in an accident then.

mine - broken away from protection bar + welded to far out :-(

yes i just loosesned it lifted it up with a jack and then tightened it again....looks a whole lot better

good thing you didn't go with the cable ties. Due to vibrations the cable ties would eventually chafe through, and then Question bumper falls off and you drive over it
