This is specifically for a Corsa B Firstly - disconnect the battery. It is safer and it stops you switching the radio on everytime you pull the panel down - which drives you mad. Just make sure you have the security code first. Remove the cover on the hazard switch ![]() Then depress the clip at the top of the switch mechanism and remove the switch itself ![]() Then turn the fan/heated rear screen switch to no.3 and stick a thin screwdriver into the slot in the bottom to release the clip (it is a bit hit & miss but you'll find it.) ![]() Remove the other two dials (heat & airflow direction), they just pull off, there is no clip, then prise off the square knob on the slider control ![]() Also remove the trim around the slider control ![]() Undo the two Philips screws behind the trim ![]() Push the vents down as far as they will go, then force then a bit more so you can get at the rear of them. Use a broad bladed screwdriver to prise the vents out of their mounts. They have a stud at each end that they swivel on, so it is a bit brutal. Just lever and pull at the same time and they will come out. You'll see a shallow channel on the end, which will help you to see how to remove the second one easier, and also how to replace them with less force. ![]() Undo the two Philips screws top left & right. These also secure the MFD ![]() Pull the unit as far forward as possible ![]() Now at this stage you may find it easier to remove the heater control wires. I don't always do this, but it isn't difficult and makes later bits a bit simpler. Unclip the spring end connector and the coloured plastic clip. Make a note of which clip colour goes where - this is important! You will be glad you did this when it comes to putting it back together. ![]() Then take off the connector block - it can only go back one way round. ![]() Undo the two gold coloured Torx screws. A small straight driver will usually do the job. ![]() You ought to be left with this - the black bar near the front of the photo with two silver lines running along it is the bulb carrier. To remove this unclip one end (noting the clips at each end which need to be depressed) then note that near the centre there are two white plastic lugs that prevent you pulling the carrier straight out. It need to be tipped forwards and pulled at the same time. Then unclip the other end. You may need to apply gentle leverage with a screwdriver - but not force it. Look for those retaining lugs or else it simply won't budge. ![]() ![]() Now all you have to do is to put it all back together. |
