highest reading was 132Db with factory deck, 2 x 12" Pioneer SVC's 800W (350RMS), 1400W Calibra Stealth Monoblock Amp, 2 Voxium tweeters
2 separate sub boxes, behind my seats (built by my late dad, that I will never part with even though I know I can push out more Db's with a better box)

Ever since then i fitted an in-dash DVD player + Ice-Power Premetric equalizer, never had a another DB reading since then

only crap thing is entering a sound-off with my UTE, is that I fall in a crap category, cos I have a bakkie & therefore the other guys in my class / category push out 145-150Db's average :|

wanna also add a nice split system with another amp, maybe towards end of the year, if the budget allows

135.4db with pioneer deh-5050ub 2x 12inch pioneer 1400w DVC's off an ICE Power 3300w monoblock. Then I got infinity 5 1/4inch splits in front and 6 1/2inch co-axials at the back off a reference audio 1600w 4 channel amp. I know if I play around with some settings I will make more though. That was a first. Also need to change to a ported box.

Where can I view what the SPL catagories are? Was told to go to the iasca.co.za site but thats down.

Re: whats your best db results?

blueteeth - ja, die event co-ordinators moet so iets beplan

regarding the spl category's, i think that if the event / sound-off is not iasca affiliated, then the organisers of the event, make up their own classes / category's

Re: whats your best db results?

Alpine cda 9633, 2x 12" Magnat subs 260rms each in a ported enclosure tuned to 45hz for everyday listening and a rockford 200x2 rms amp 139.9db. (mids, tweeters in stock location and a 4ch amp)
If u guys do a sound off keep the classes simple as i assume non of u are running extra batteries and removed your back seats to build a wall with subs. Therefore the classes could be in terms of square inches...i.e

1-160 sq" = 2x 10's or 1x 12

161-260 sq" = 3x 10's or 2x 12's or 1x 15 or 1x 18

261-360 sq" = doubt any1 would be in this class :)

if u want it more complicated then so be it (www.iasca.com)
use the above classes and split it further into groups...
Rookie street
rookie international
stock
stock pro and it goes on and on
each comes with its own rules. Rather complicated.

thats freaking awesome stuff for 2 10's? wat category did you do this reading?

i did a mere 130 db's (astraf)at an iasca event (if that makes a different), 4'ported box with 2 12' dvc xtc subs, 450wx4 amp. was verry disappointed lol

a friend of mine is really into this sound stuff, he is currently doing 141-2 bd's for 2 10'starsound subs,

Re: whats your best db results?

I did sound for a couple of my friends, only one that's been metered though, was 138dB in a Honda Civic. 1 fifteen Starsound, sealed 60 litre box, running off 700rms. Haven't metered my own sound yet.

That's odd though, usually Corsa's get higher readings than bigger hatchbacks. What's your box tuned? Maybe the box is tuned closer to the Kadett's peak frequency.

139.9 with two 12" ice power subs and 4000w ice power amp in corsa :smileyeatpopcorn: (my first run ever...)
