hi , what would be the best alternator to use in my 2007 astra essentia.

Running a Kinetic battery , 2F lightning audio cap, 7800w starsound digital monoblock,
800w lightning audio 4 ch, lightning audio mids and tweeters, 6000w 15" starsound digital D4 subwoofer . my lights still dim with every bass hit.

any help will be appreciated

Thats quick current draw, hard to get rid of that, unless you get a extra 652 battery with thicker cables and closer to the amp. The alternator power will always be under 15v no mater how big it is,but the rate at which it charges the battery differs from various alternators. Eg- 55amp,70amp,120amp ext.

So to avoid your issue put a battery in the boot closer to the amp and a power wire from the front battery to the rear 1 so it can charge both. I dont really believe in caps.

correct wayno on the 2nd battery. use the 652 up front though and the kinetik to power your system.

wayno if you don't mind me asking, why don't you believe in caps? i know there is a massive debate about them

Hi so I've got the kinetic 1800 in the front of my car.
What battery should I then use at the back?

And doesn't an extra battery effect which class u fall
Into at soundoffs , if I do decide to enter.

Thanks

I had atleast 20 people with decent sound systems with caps that have this issue, and you also never know when the cap is dead,my thing is..what happens if u disconect your battery and you have a cap,can you still play your system? But if you hav a extra battery where the cap is (in place of the cap) you can, even if its a a small 619 battery.
Whats happening is the lights injectors and other electronics of the car and the sound system are trying to run from that 1 battery.
Im not sure about sound off rules.

So if I get another battery at the back I won't need to get another alternator.?
And I remove the cap?

You can still keep the cap, that way you can check ur battery voltage digitaly. Dont need another alternator. If you go 3 mono blox then you need a upgrade yes. Advantage of a batter it can be removed quickly b4 a sound off competion and you can just run your Front 1. Or even just your rear 1.
