Im BAAAAACCCCCKKKKK!!!!!!!!!. So i was gone for a while. May I forgot I was still past of the forum. I decided to have some quality time with my car have things sorted. I redid my Engine and it drives like a dream. It was worth the money I spent on it. I then decided to get the color back and sprayed it again. Then i did the sound system last week and it took me exactly 2 days to complete. Im not 100% Completed yet as the seats are still to be completed. The vinyl also need to be completed 100%. My hande was k@k seer so im taking a few days break. but the sound is M :flash: ering. Below is a pic or 2. I will send the rest once its done.

OH and I never went for a sound reading yet. Not sure how much I will hit

It looks like a Kadett F, but have the rear side windows been filled?

Hi guys. Thanks for the feedback. Yes its a opel Kadett 140. The side windows was smashed. And what I did was i couldnt find the windows. No person has of that windows as the window is built into the rubber and the rubber is basically mounted on the side of the car. When they broke that window I was forced to break the other window and do the same there. its covered with perspex, fibreglass, body filler and u know the rest. Same other side.

Many people who has that window broken and has it covered in plastic or board etc asked me how I closed that window. I told them how i did it and how easy it was. All we have to do is think out of the boot :okka:

how much do the windows cost? You can't tell me nobody stocks them.

You should have removed the other side and sold it.

Post a picture of the side of the car

Thats the problem. The window and the rubber is not 2 separate units. Its a complete unit and its then riveted to the body. To remove that window you basically have to break it out as it comes out with the rubber. I have found many replacement parts for my car but that window is nowhere to be found because of how its made and installed. Below is a pic of the side of my car

I had the system all along. But to get to the way it is now I spent about R600-R700. Currently I am doing my seats also. DIY style with the help of my lovely wife. Ill try an send pics of how the seat/s looked before and how/what we restored it to. Next will be my door panels and then the roof lining.

I am running 2 Batteries. One for the car and the Drycell for the system. My CAP has never been disconnected. You prob talking about my digital fuse. Its currently not included in the setup. Not sure if I should as it stays on. The digital fuse does not switch off like the CAP. I would like to display it with the system becoz of it being digital but that is my only problem. Otherwise I just have to put it under the hood. But well see

ok thanks i probably have the fuse mistaken for the cap. remember reading something like that on here.

anyway i'm now running an Optima yellow top AGM battery. my cap is busted and continues to drain power from battery. i have temporarily solved the problem by adding a circuit breaker to disconnect it whenever the car is not driving but have been told that i do not need the cap with the Optima battery. any views on this?

LOL... i don't think he meant it in a literal sense. I agree with him that Pro Series amps are great. cost effective and give you the power you need. they really are die hard amps and i regret getting rid of mine, could've kept it for my bro's car or for an install in my 2nd car.

I have to agree, I'm pumping a 4 channel pro series amp everyday to keep up with a very big setup and I'm impressed

just an update on battery. i was running the same cap as you are but it was busted and kept draining my battery. got myself the Optima yellow top and my bro and i installed the new power cables friday night so that battery terminals can reach the battery.

we then disconnected the caps and ran the amps straight.... system plays so much better and my interior lights don't flicker at high volumes anymore. also the system can play for quite a while when the car is off and she still starts on 1st swing. Optima battery is definitely worth the money and no need for a 2 battery setup once you have this.
