Only happens if they connected the wrong wires 1st and blew the IC. If installed correctly it wont do that.

Does the pitch of the sound vary with the engine rpm? cause then it might be the rc cables picking up the magnetic fields from your amp's power cable. by rerouting the rc cables it might solve the problem or so i've read on some of the forums. i have such a sound in my corsa c, i have yet to reroute the cables as i havent had time. previously i used a hi-lo coverter with my standard deck then i didnt have that problem. its only after laying the rc's i had the sound.

if it is that k@k engine noise.. u can earth the rca cable to the deck itself it will go away, which is far easier that re routing the cables itself

LOL maybe my lingo isnt correct, basically u a short piece of twinflex or ordinary single piece of speaker cord okay. there are plenty of screws on your deck, unscrew 1, attach 1 piece of the cable to that screw and screw it back. the other end of the cable tie it to the metal bit of the rca before plugging it into the back of your deck.

look dont get me wrong its a bit of a "backyard" job, but it has worked for me. I have also done the whole relaying of cables to get rid of the noise and that works as well.

This works if it is an IC that was blown but in the end its best to see if you can rather have the IC replaced.

The laying of the cables will work if the IC isn't blown.I deally, you want your power cable running on the one side of the car and RCA's running down the other side.

That work around worked for me for just over a year and then it didn't anymore.

Alternator whine is i think any car sound enthusiasts worst nightmare!

I have done everything and still got whine and scratch when i press the pedal... some say its due to the turbo thats causing electrical interference, i also sanded the ground points inside and outside the car, used a stainless steel bolt which goes through the bolt hole for the rear seat so it is definitely in the chasis. the power cable and rca's are separate too... just gave up
