So I am planning to install a double din touch screen into the Astra, my only concern is the BC button on the original head that changes the info (range etc) display on the top little screen.

IF I replace the head unit I wont be able to change that display but I have been thinking will that display work at all if I remove that head unit? As someone install an After market head unit that could perhaps advise?

Thanks in advance

Hi, you can change the info displayed using the steering controls.
Press the left scroller to enter the menu, then scroll up or down.

If I were you, I'd get this loader:
http://www.soundlouder.co.za/opel-black ... ast-gm5156

ECU wont give any errors as the loader above has a can-bus canceler.
If you plan on installing a "universal" loader, you will have to run new wiring from the battery to avoid the ECU.

However, the standard loader gives you access to a secret menu where you can check voltage, temperatures, etc. I'm not sure if you can do that with the loader above.

Hope this helps!

So I went and picked up the unit from latitjuig last night. it is in perfect condition. Great buy. So I got home and thought what the heck im gonna install this myself. Abit of youtube and some cursing the unit was in. very easy install. All standard functions still working on the car and i am loving the head unit.

Unit still working great, I have upgraded the Gps and added the traffic cam information. Now I have been doing some more research and found this

Image

Now I am thinking of doing this, my thinking is that apparently you can split the screens so have gps on the one while displaying music, video ECT on the other. What you guys think? To much?
