I also had 2 x 12" SVC's - in my Corsa C UTE though
Also had a 135 odd dB best reading iirc at a car show in CW

I think if its free air subs, you don't need a ported box
Don't take my word for it though. I've been out of the sound game for 3/4 yrs now

Come to the think of it, I still have my 2 sealed boxes

all depends on what you want out of your system.

I had 2 x 12's in a sealed setup. had it sealed for quality purposes.
if i wanted more bass i could have ported it and changed the box.

however, i do also think 2 x 12's is overkill if you just want some bass and some good sound.
if you do plan on competing then make sure you get quality subs and amps as well as a quality enclosure.

hi guys i currently have a sony xplod 1000watt svc subwoofer im currently looking for another 12" subwoofer also around 100watt ,i want to go ported but im worried about the space ,i feel not any ported box would fit into the boot of a corsa B and where will i place my amp,thats my biggest concern at the moment,even the same for a sealed box,or maby i would have to design a box myself not sure what will be cheapest,,currently looking for box that will fit as well for a decent price

I would probably go for a 10" or 2 x 10" (if really necessary), a nice split system, HU, & a monoblock amp

The B hatch boot is very small

Sealed box will fit and you will have less problems tuning. With a port, you going to need to know a whole lot more to get the best out of it. Also sealed just allows you to play a bigger variety of music and they will all sound decent.

you still haven't mentioned what you looking for from the system?
or do you just want 2x 12's regardless of how it plays?

in that case have a box built to fit your boot seeing as the sound quality/outcome is not that big of an issue.

I would go for 1 12 in a sealed box with a set of splits infront and co-axials at the back. 4 channel for the speakers and monoblock for the sub. If only running 1 amp, then would run sub off 2 channels of the amp, splits off the other 2 and co-axials directly from the head unit as its just for rear fill anyway. But I guess thats just me. Would even settle for a 10" or 8" sub. More than enough for the car and even to play loudly inside the car.

It does seem like he would like a pavement pounder though. I could be wrong.

I would pretty much go with the same setup... in fact its what i have in my corsa now lol.
i have the sedan though. running a 4 channel amp exactly the way you mentioned.

sounds decent enough for me right and i have space in the boot.

Would sound decent. I had little to no boot space with just 1 12 in a Corsa hatch.

!0" For the win. I prefer 10" subs. But then again I listen to metal so faster base suits my music better

@Koperdraad

Did you have roof flex with those 2 subs?
seems like the hatch might have a sturdy roof

@OP

i like two because you need less volume to get the same effect if you had one running on the same power , intrestingly i get less diming light aswell now that i have 2 ... i might be hallucinating idk :think:

but you then require an additional monoblock...

my custom box in the back of my corsa b bakkie :D
