that is a buddy of mine, but i think i have become very good friends with alot of guys on this forum as well.
so my advice... if you want to tune go to dynotech, KSD, jdmworx and the more popular guys.
if you want work done on your car then go to more popular workshops with better ratings.
however if you want parts you may go to hive opel centre.
plenty of talent... and plenty of dishonesty in that place. your gamble if you go there.
some customers get the talent, and some get the dishonesty.
DO NOT GO THERE FOR MODIFICATIONS!!!!
DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR AT HIVE OPEL CENTRE IF YOU HAVE EXPENSIVE PARTS ON IT!!!!
PS i have nothing against the Hive Opel Centre, in fact we are friends and i can have a dyno run for free anytime i go there. i am however an honest person

honesty is the best policy.
i believe in karma and to be honest i have seen it hitting them in the backside quite a few times.
one day i was there and someone came in for a check up on a 200ie. they told the guys valves bent and he would have to rebuild at 5k+. he said he can't afford and wants to get rid of the car. they offered him R7500 saying the car will be broken up because its too much to fix and took his 200ie off his hands. the customer leaves after the deal and they go fetch a cold start plug. swing, car starts and that very night even went out with the car.
another client needed some work which wasn't to hectic (can't remember what exactly). they tell him it sounds like the bottom end is acting up after "fixing" his problem. he hears the weird sound and they get a job for complete rebuild. they change rings, clean pistons and service the car saying it was a complete rebuild with head redone as well.
but then they also helped some people honestly as well. man came with a problematic car and didn't have money. gave him quite a discount and actually fixed the car for him. he was happy and very lucky.
so they can be honest workers but choose to do bad dealings. i on the other hand can't know about it and not warn people. especially after i referred someone for a rebuild and he got his car back with someone else's bottom end, vernier gear and 280 cam changed for stock parts. computer boxed changed, loom changed for a crap one and he eventually got a smoking car back with 2nd hand parts

+1 for the heads-up. I suppose many workshops have such stories of dishonesty floating around, however if people can comment on first hand experience like you did and not just hearsay, then it helps create the kind of awareness we need.
Good stuff!!

My Brothers GSI front bumper was found at the hive opel spares, after his boss was stolen. Went with the cops to fetch it that day.
