What should i do??? Put a 16V head on with iTB's or turbochrage the 8v?
Did G+C do a standard rebuild or did they raise the compression on your motor?
If high compression already, then go ITB, because if you're going turbo then you'd be advised to drop the compression otherwise you'll just be running a bolt-on setup and recommended reliable settings is not boosting more than 0.4.
By all means, feel free to turn up the boost, but reliability will then go out the window and you'll probably lose any warranty on the build.
Lowering the compression will mean opening the motor.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot...16v and 8v pistons are different.
The face of the pistons are pocketed according to the direction that the valves travel in the head.
Putting a 16v head on your high compression 8v block will most likely = 16 bent valves before long.
Go speak to the people who built your motor and ask them for advise.
Once you have the information then get a second opinion from somebodyelse.
I really wouldn't advise the bolt-on route, because boosting 0.4 is soon not going to be enough.
I'm gonna generalize here a little, but just search this and the jhb forum, and see how many people have taken off their bolt-on kits.
In fact most of the people with bolt-ons stopped posted sometime ago.
A fully rebuilt sub with stronger internals will cost you about the same price that you're advertising your car at.
Any mod can be done, alot of them cheaply, but how is the reliability of the motor afterwards?
How soon are you going to need to rebuild the motor again?
