What's happening with the accident damage?

Is the guy paying out?

Took it to the lawyers but if the guy is a hard @ss I guess I'll have to fix it out of my own pocket.

I was in a bike accident many years ago and also ended up with an asshole who wouldn't pay. He still reversed over my bike after the accident :censored:

I then took him to court, decided to waste his time as well. Long story short ( had to get a new judge ) he ended up paying me R50 a month  for many years. I also sued the road accident fund and got some cash out there, even thought it took 4 or 5 years.

I know R50 per month isn't worth it, but I liked the look on his face when he got told to pay. He still came to me after court that day and asked me to reconsider as he couldn't afford it  I had two nice very nice words for him.

I hope all the best for you regarding this matter, I know how frustrating it can be.

How much is small claims court now? R13000?

Well done Gouraami, life isn’t fair, you ended up spending money for his recklessness when you shouldn’t have. That money he has to pay every month might be a reminder to him to drive with much more caution. Don’t let it slide Sterling, remind him why he was wrong. Let him pay even if it’s R50 a month.

Pensioner or not, the court looks at his monthly expenditure and then decides upon an amount he needs to pay per month
