It breaks my heart to see her like this every morning

Why the sleeve got damaged ? Chatted to a few mechanics, they say either a foreign object  fell in the cylinder or the engineering company we used messed up when they rebored the sleeves.

And yes, the car made 283 kW with a damaged sleeve :claugh: deep down I knew she could hit 300 kW

I decided this time not to use Racetec :smileyno: Found a mechanic who stripped the engine for me one evening after work.

Strange enough the pistons and rings are fine  but just to be safe I will fit new rings.

1. Head was sent to Motor Masters, pressure tested and its fine, while the head was off I decided to fit new valve stem seals just to play it safe. Hopefully I will get it back end of this week.

2. Block still needs to go to Deco engineering next week, fit new sleeves and rebore them 0.5mm bigger.

3. Injectors also still needs to be tested.

4. Turbo Master repair is building me a special hybrid turbo :shh:

As always, dont worry, she will be back on the streets very soon, and alot stronger then before ...

Hi Guys

Where do I start ...

Reason for failure: Previous engine builder (we all know who that is) never fitted oil spray nozzles back, which meant the sleeves and pistons didn't get enough lubrication, that's why from the pics you can see it looks like the rings were scraping against the sleeve, I'm so grateful that Daeco Engineering spotted this, if they didn't then after a few months I would go through this again.

Block was delivered this morning, hold up was just because of waiting for parts to arrive from VW.

Only thing missing now is the turbo, decided rather to go for GT3071R, will only have the bucks end of month, so im going to stall fitment of engine till then, don't want to fit my spare K03 turbo and then take it off to fit new one, want to do it one time.

Also discovered Motor masters where the engine was first, never gave back the crankshaft pulley,
Turbo Master repair also never gave my N75 valve (boost controller) back, they will never get any business from me again.

Here is some pics I took:

Oil Spray Nozzles

Block still wrapped

:ciao:
