Put in annother steering rack from a daewoo lanos which is made from stainless steel and not from aluminium like the f shapes. Rebuilt my radiator so every happy there (costs almost R3000 ). Replaced all my radiator switches on the same go. Looks like they build intercoolers there also so maybe I should look into building a thicker one that will fit into the same space Before I leave bloem. Don't want to go front mount as you have to remove the aircon system.

It is good to know a Lanos steering rack works.
Is the fan sorted out now?

Yup yup sorted Not sure if it was because of the sensor or the broken wire at one of the terminals at the top fan switch

Ok I'm now the new owner on this beautiful car and I must thank Sterlings he did most of the work on the car before I could buy it. As for the steering rack, it is a straight fit but the arms are longer than the stock one and will need to be modified a bit. The problem is your alignment will always be off by 5 degrees which in alignment terms is a lot. This is due to the fact that you will run out of thread in order to set the alignment so we cut off roughly 2.5 inches on each arm off. This worked like a charm and now the alignment is 100s

Thanks for updating regarding the rack, 5 degrees will kill your tires fast. The way I understand it, it had 5 degrees toe in before the alteration?

Shytaan is really doing the car justice @ Lupi same here. First I look at the front to see bumper and if it has spots then the back side to see if its a kadett or astra then the rims to see if its 200ie 16valve or what type of 200is according to rim fan/8bar coz I doubt I'll ever see a 200TS in northern cape

2.5 inches may seem a bit extreme but that was done in order to make sure there is enough thread on either sides to adjust the toe in and toe outs. I would have actually preferred to have a stock arm in order to measure the difference and then mod the Lanos one but time was short and we didn't have a stock up to measure up unfortunately.

I am really enjoying this car a lot as everyday without fail someone asks if its for sale hehehehehe I already had some really high offers but I will not sell this car.... After changing the gearbox to a wr the fuel consumption is 100% as she burns around 5.8 litres for every 100km in city traffic :):) tomorrow the car will be going in to get the speedo re collaborated as its over reading by a lot....

I will definitely do so but I don't have many pics at this time as most of the work done so far was mostly mechanical stuff. I cant wait for January as that's when the fun begins as I plan on doing the following: T3T4 Turbo Front mount cooler Pull the motor out and freshen up the engine bay sort the body out refurb all wheels change interior carpet (optional) install sound system I might get around in doing the smash and grab tint this weekend but will see if time permits...
