jip. still not sure if i should get forged pistons or cast. if something goes wrong... then forged will also break as far as i know.
went to get a price on the normal piston and rings...R790. This is really cheap and i don't like cheap on this build

Lekker. Ya I like how you are thinking of all your options first and then building something which you can enjoy. Mooi man

Cast vs forged, depends on what goes wrong, forged pistons can take a lot more than cast pistons. And cast pistons can be the cause of a failure, that's the whole point of going forged so that the pistons don't fail from giving them more than they can handle

now where do i find forged? i've contacted wiseco and all they have is this

i think this is the motor i have because i can't find any details from the engine number. it also had a lot of spacers to lower the compression for the turbo. so if im right i should get the low compression pistons from them and then i can run without all of the spacers?

I'm used to building vw setups. opel is really something new lol

Doesn't Shanti on the Forum sell forged items? I think I read that some somewhere, but could be wrong. Hopefully someone will correct or agree

That's correct.

I remember your e-mail Gemmerkat, your name is Frans?

You can't go wrong with Wossner pistons, they are very good. We supply plenty of Opel guys across SA. The PEC pistons are also good. Dana Jordaan has actually bought a few sets of the PEC pistons for his OPC customers and he's very happy with them.

As for the PEC rods, they are cast in Sweden and finished in the UK. They are also used in many race cars in European rally's. PEC rods are designed to withstand roughly 225hp per cylinder (typically 900hp on most 4cyl engines)
They are R1375 per rod, which I think is pretty reasonable compared to R1000 for a Chinese rod.
