this is my car when i bought it
Image

so I decided to make a projects thread for my corsa to begin the long process and keep track of my car's progress of where I want it to be 1day (maybe like 2 or 3 year minimum).
This is my current status of my corsa to date:
First thing I did on my corsa was installing sound in die Bloupel but later replaced the sub.

Image

After that I did the free flow and de-restricted airbox(didn't do branches because it would be a waste when i'm gonna put in another engine)

Image
Image

The next mod is all thanks to a corsa c that reversed into me. Small Fender knock and scratches.

Image
Image

In the holiday i got myself a 160ie throttle body just for fun.

Image

So now I decided I want to respray my whole car but first I want to get pre-face lift gsi bumper(already have the fog lights) but its a mission to find them and i'm still looking.

Image

So anyway went to a panelbeater today just to ask what they'll ask for a respray. He says they don't do resprays coz its too expensive and I ask how much is too expensive? He says R18 000.
(Living in upington sucks and they can stick the spraybrush where the sun don't shine)
Going to ask at other 2 panelbeaters what they'll charge for a respray but i'm guessing they are gonna give me the same expensive prices.
After that i'm gonna go ask some quotes in bloemfontein.

Now I was maybe thinking of just getting little fender knock fixed and my old bumper resprayed and saving the rest of the money to get the engine transplant. I'm still in 2 minds about it coz I don't want to put in too much money in the car as i would later in my life have to buy a 2nd car and a house.

Future plans for the car is a engine transplant with a 1600 16valve or a 1800 16valve but i'm if my budget allows me to then i'll drop in a 2l 16valve and it will be the last mod.

So just found out now that my HID kit for my main and fog lights arrived at the post office so I think I will be patient for the bumper.

after going to all the scrapyards with no luck finding the infamous corsa gsi bumper so at the last scrapyard also finding nothing the guy at the counter tells me I must go to the plastic rebuilders coz they also sell bumpers.
So i go there they try to help me but tell me of the facelift bumpers but this other guy comes that works in the "stoor" (i don't know the english work vir "stoor")
and comes and look at my bumper coz I told them my bumper looks different to the one on the computer.
Again he tells me about the facelift one but them I show him how the bumper how the bumper looks and then
JACKPOT!!!!!! :whoop:
He tells me he thinks they still have a original gm bumper like that in the stoor.
So without thinking twice I bought the bumper.
Nou is ek so happy soos n chappy.
No all thats left is to get quotes again here in bloem and wait for my brother send my moulding, mirror and spotlights to bloem to get it resprayed.

Got me an engine mounting today coz my engine mounting is broken and it sounds like the wheels is gonna fall out coz of the cracking sound.

Also went to gm today and all i'm gonna say is that i'm gonna fork out the money next week for the lip badge and grill.
Couldn't order today coz I used all my money to pay my subjects and registration.
So have to wait till next week for my bursary money.
Pics will follow as soon as I get my internet password.

Went to panelbeaters today but the one I went to only does insurances and other is actually really a bit expensive like a 1000 bucks more the most expensive quote I got in upington.
But my brother is still gonna send my stuff to bloem just for incase but i'm not gonna go at backyard jobs coz thats a gamble and you get no customer satisfaction.

So decided to put project on hold.(sort of)
I'm still gonna collect the parts as I go along.
Still need the 2 piece lip and side skirts.
But main reasons why i'm putting on hold is coz the car doesn't actually need a re-spray now. Would be a waste just to spray the repaired parts and new parts.
Also still looking for lip and skirts.
Other reason also witch is the biggest reason is the cash flow and just other stuff thats just more important than a car.
Gonna wait till after my training witch is after 2012 to really start with the car again.
Only thing that is in the pipe line is a set of ts rims(thats if I don't fail anything this semester)
