Hi fellow members, I need help I'm looking to convert my 1.4i 8v corsa lite to a 2lt or maybe just turbo my 1.4i What would be my best bet when it comes to choosing a engine don't want to cut or weld on the car itself so is there maybe a engine that will fit with the standard 1.4 engine mounts. Thanks in advamce

hiya... as far as i know, you won't find an Opel engine that will fit as is. I recall that the 2 liter ecotech 16v motor requires just a single engine mount to be changed on the corsa, but not sure if that's the Corsa B or C engine bay. Search through the projects here, there's a number of guys that have done similar conversions. Turbo is an option, but depending on the state of your current engine .. you might be placing it at risk of a spectacular blow up

What are you looking to spend to do either of the above? Ball park figure, because that will also help with the response you get.

or
the 2lt 16v ecotec will fit in a b (x20xev) with a single mounting change yeah iirc
Yep, search forum, plenty of project threads in the similar direction as you with loads of advice and tips
I think budget on R25k at least, or likely a bit more

Once you get into these kinds of conversions, the costs start adding up, especially if you are not doing it yourself. The more 'cost effective' route would probably be turbo, but even then 20k could be a bit tight, I would say work on 30k just to be safe.

Those are bare necessities and then you need to take into account all the mall odds and ends that always pop up with these kinds of conversions.

WilliamBold9902 wrote: Do you guys know where to start with a turbo Conversion? What size turbo, injectors and where I can get some low comp pistons and arp bolts for the Corsa b people use relatively smallish turbos, otherwise you are going to have a lot of lag. Best would be, decide on who your tuner will be. Then speak to your tuner as he will give you what his preferred management is and advice on the other parts to get as well.
