Hi guys.
Big apologies but I'm have to provide a link to this on another forum. It is too much to post, it took me a week to put up. On the plus side I've added a bit of detail on the suspension conversion, how I put in the motor and sorted the wiring. It's a long picture heavy thread but worth the read, I think, if you're considering giving your Ute or sedan a bit of a power boost like this.

http://www.opelownersforum.co.za/forum/ ... &start=0el

Feel free to post comments whether its positive or negative. (Nothing too harsh though, I'm very sensitive).

damn!! Shocked Very Happy Very Happy

That was a damn interesting read! Some hard work, commitment & dedication put in there. For that I take my hat off to you! Wink Wink
I admire the fact that you not only focused on the engine, but the interior bits & pieces as well, not to mention the wheels & 5-hole conversion

I'm sure your Ute is one evil bakkie now! Congrats & enjoy it!

You my new hero! Embarassed Cool

Hey guys,
I have to admit, the build itself was pretty quick. I bought the Ute with the intention of doing this to it and a little bit more. The engine conversion took about 48 man hours of work, the suspension is about two hours worth. The research and parts search took a good few months though. I admit that I had to speed it up when this year started and the Ute was still "standard" so I shelved the turbo conversion and concentrated on a nice N/A install.

I am a big fan of being safe at speed so that's why the suspension was taken care of first. I also, only modified the necessary stuff and left the rest standard. There are a few little tricks that could not be fitted in this little "info pack" but I'll include in in my next build project here in London, UK.

My wifes two door Corsa C SXi. Soon to get OPC power. Wink

Actually, the local Utes definitely look better. This Ute exterior is stock Base spec. Nothings been touched on the outside. Or do you mean the mods?

Thank you, thank you.
Okay, seriously, the car I have is getting stolen piece by piece. Sort of a "welcome to London" thing? Eish, time to move...
You guys will not believe the crime here. Seriously, it's worse than SA. (No, serious).I SEE the muggings every month (I'm right THERE in the middle but cannot do anything) And the smash and drive off thing is so common it's just not funny. The SA dude in the next road (Voora driver) was telling me how the one evening, a group of guys went down the street and booted off the rear view mirror off just about every car parked on both sides. The next morning there was a long line of people picking up their mirrors. This place is MAD.

I’ll try to fix it.
Post some pics of your conversion.

Oops. Had a look again. This build disappeared when the Opel Owners Forum ceased to exist.
What do you need to know?

Cannot find a working thread anywhere on the net. I fixed the links to photobucket so if it is hosted in its entirety anywhere, the pics will be visible too. Bear in mind that this was over ten years ago. A lot has changed. Most forums and web hosting companies have disappeared because of Facebook. Sorry cannot help further.
