65Litre tank and avg fuel consumption 6.2L/100KM
Took the reading this morning to work and currently at 5.9L/100KM. :Bravo:
Will still love Opel and was tempted to take the Mokka, but this car impressed me. :SmokingJoint:

Congrats again. Dig the colour

Good luck on filling that 65lt tank, although that sipping-on-high-tea consumption makes it well worth it

The best I've ever done in the Forester was 9.5l/100km.

Just a tip though: car's don't like it if you coast them in an effort to safe fuel. You starve the head of delicious and nutritious oil and you can damage it. I'm not saying that's what YOU do, but it's something to keep in mind for others. There's no sense in saving R100/month in fuel, but have to rebuild the head after two years.

Explain please... I understand that when idling there's less pressure, but to say it's starving?

And coasting in neutral (i.e. idling), uses more fuel than being in gear.

My Coupe went so far as to give me the "Check Oil Level" warning if I coasted too long. Although when I say "coast" I mean I had it in gear, but kept my foot off the fast pedal and the RPM's below 2000. I don't know the science behind it, I just know my car REALLY didn't like it.

But your oil pump is still pumping oil, your pistons moving, crank moving and everything. Why would it starve your head of oil?

Or have I had too little coffee today? :Coffee:

I don't know. I just know that I'd get a low oil level warning if I drove like a granny for 25km (Cape Town to Tygervalley). There's probably not enough oil getting up there. It also doesn't make sense to me, but that was my real world experience. And the engine was 100%.

That's very weird. But maybe your car is trying to tell you that granny driving is not acceptable to it 8)

Check my signature. I stopped caring about fuel consumption and took the car the Amien to work his magic. The car was happier and I had this permanent stupid grin on my face afterwards.

As the others said, having your foot off the gas at 2000rpm or flat foot at 2000rpm has no influence on oil pressure/flow. It comes down to the rotation of the oil pump, which will stay constant at that 2000rpm.

There was something wrong there...

I won't argue. I agree and I found it weird.
