Wheel Worx (Zaki Hendricks)

23 Jun 2014, 12:57

So about a month ago, I was on the R300 at about past 5 the morning. Some bricks must have fallen off a truck. I was drivivng too close to the car infront of me so by the time I saw the bricks, I had to make a choice, drive over the bricks with the center of the bakkie and possibly damage the sump (the bakkie is dropped) or drive with the wheel over it. So it took the wheel, end result was that I damage the rim and brand new tyre. To top it all, when I pulled over I realized that I don’t have a wheel spanner in the bakkie that fit the new nuts. After making some phone calls, nobody could assist so I ended up phoning the insurance, who send out a guy to assist me. The rim had a massive dent and a long crack in, the lip was also damage, and the tyre had a big hole in, thought I have to replace the rim.
Once I got to the office I contacted my insurance, who told me that my excess is R2500 to have my wheel fixed, ridiculous. So I phoned Zaki and he said I must bring the rim. What a relief when I got to him and he said that he can repair the rim. I dropped it by him the Monday afternoon and the Wednesday afternoon a lady phoned me that the rim is ready for collection. Got there the Thursday morning and I couldn’t believe my eyes, it looked like a brand new rim. I brought another tyre with, which they fitted and balanced for me, free of charge. I also got a 10% club discount from him.
These guys really take pride in their workmanship
