Things almost turned ugly this morning for me just past De Doorns the right rear tyre decided it had enough and blew while I was about halfway through a curve...tyre had about 50% tread left, I only had enough money to buy 2 Hankooks for the front otherwise I would have bought 4 and this wouldn't have happened but ja...

How old are they?
My dad had a Roadstone pop on him aswell. After getting the tyres (All Roadstones)checked 2 out of the 3 tyres that were left were faulty (bulges on the tyres and sidewalls). This with 80% tread on the tyres. This was not due to damage.
He thus had to fork out for another set of tyres, at least he took my advice and bought brand name tyres.

They are quite old, about 2 years I would say, always best to buy brand names especially when it comes to tyres. A long time ago when I still had my BB, the right front Nankang popped, I was chasing down a SAAB doing over 140 kph, the trick is not to panic and not brake hard rather gear down while slightly braking to reduce speed and try keeping the car on the road, scary stuff when the tyre tread area detaches from the sidewalls and rolls out in front of you and you realise what just happened!
