Not my experience as such

My gf's S4 (few months old) switches off. It happened quite a few times
Battery still on 90%

She will have to take it in but doesnt want to stay without a phone or transfer stuff over etc.
She had to stay without her S3 when she gave it in to Vodacom for a screen repair

So will this Smart Lab place help?

Damn same thing happened to me just a day after Kalu posted his dilemma, its annoying because sometimes I'm in the middle of a text and bam the device just shuts down. I was also wondering if i should try the smart lab problem is I dont know where its located. Oh yes sometimes if you take the battery out and put it back in again the battery power will be on its right place.

Well, not sure. I took my s3 to the samsung repair centre (duno if its the same place the others are speaking of). Its behind canal walk sort of. Anyway, its almost been there for 3 weeks now. Hence me using this damn bb. Gonna call them tomorrow, coz I think the wait is ridiculous with absolutely no feedback.

Dude just root the phone and install a custom rom. Ofcourse this wont help much if its a hardware issue.

And then you wait almost 3 weeks like me, then you call and hear, oh, your phone is done and is ready for repair. So if I didn't phone, you wouldn't have let me know. Sigh, customer service in SA sucks.

Dude , i waited , and called them many times , so the one day i call , and the lady is like , 'SIR, the technician is currently busy with your device and you may collect today', and i reckon , 'Thank you, its by time, ill be there by 4pm'... this was the morning around 10am.

4pm...
i walk in and the lady says.

'im sorry to tell you but your device is not ready.'

then i went beddonerd and gave everybody involved a k@k lesson in life. i made them call the technician and i gave him the shits. took the manager outside and let him know what circus he is running.

next day i collected a fully working device.
They dont have customer service there at all.

So is this smartcare centre the same lab place tauzty refers to?

My gf needs to take her phone in, but she's not sure if she should go straight to Vodacom in Paarl where she took out the contract & collected the phone or at canal walk

cos i'll be in canal walk on sunday, so we can do it there if need be (or if that's the better route to go)

Smart centre is that place.

So they replaced my motherboard. Phone is working now.

Sorry only saw this thread now.

The Smart Lab is directly opposite the entrance of China Town by Sable square, you go down the street by Redfern labels. Seems the S4 battery problem will happen to all S4's eventually.

Their actual service and people skills arent very good but at least my phone only took 2 days after they told me it will take a week.
