My Coupe's got a few problems I still need to sort out. One of them is that I need a new rear silencer (or "Backbox" as it is known by scientists  ). I tried a few tire and exhaust shops around town and they all told me that I can only go to the agents  .

So because I'm well rested after the December holidays, I actually feel brave enough to phone GM and ask for a quote. So they give me one. R5460. For just the rear silencer. That's R200 more than taking everything out and putting a performance exhaust on and having the software tweaked at a performance shop.

And they wonder why I want to import everything instead of supporting "proudly South African".

Oh, I remember seeing a similiar post on the Opel Club Fb general group - was probably you

For a coupe, there are PLENTY other BETTER options than agents in majority of instances

Dont even waste your call by phoning the agents

I remember you mentioning Evolution - you should consider going with them

Ja, I definitely prefer Evo. They're a bit far from me though, but they'll probably see me in the end.

if its only a rear silencer , go to any DECENT exhaust shop that does free flow systems. if you want noise and drone, get the smallest freeflow box , and the biggest one (that will fit under the car) will give a nice purr sound but it will be a bit too quiet for some.

Good to know. Thanks. I prefer a car that sounds like a big jungle cat when it idles, so I will be going with a nice big box.
