I don't know how many of you guys have been to Boschenmeer golf estate, more specifically their restaurant.
I went there yesterday for a plated 3 course lunch - mother's day, fiance's family invited me.
They were 2 options to choose from for the starters & mains. Dessert was only 1 option, I didn't eat it - not a big dessert fan.
Anyways, the starter I chose consisted of 3 (THREE) calamari rings, which was oil-soaked & looked more like onion rings than calamari rings.
The mains I went for was the chicken. It was 1 (ONE) small medium-sized breast fillet CUT IN TWO (WTF, is this supposed to be a GATSBY!) on a bed of mash with some veggies (very little).
All of the above for R150. I was shocked. I will never ever go there again.
I mean on Fri night, I went to Cattle Baron & ordered lamb chops for R139 or R149 (cant remember exact price) which was much more tastier & worth the money!
Apparently, on previous mother's/father's days, they used to have a buffet for R150 which was far better & they are now under new management.
Pros: nice view over the golf course, good cheap coffee & bottled water
Cons: terrible food, bad service, spider dangling from his/her web, old-fashioned dining hall
Don't go there
