We came up with this idea on Thurs, 17 July...literally.
We thought of it as a test for the club. All of our other events are planned well in advance, but with this one we aimed to see if the club could pull off a spontaneous spur of the moment "event" and what better way than a charitable one.
We'd like to think we pulled it off nicely, especially since we went to the homeless & served them at their sleeping spots instead of just setting up at 1 spot. You will therefore notice that in some of the pics we couldn't work from our table but took the pot/food right up to them & served them.

*6-7 pots of piping hot soup
*8 pockets of oranges
*a platter of sandwiches
*some food
*20+ loaves of bread
All of the above handed out to the homeless in Paarl. A few of our members braved the rainy & cold weather at 19h30 last night to hand it out. It rained right through, they got soaking wet, had to dodge crappy roads...but it was all well worth it at the end of the eve. 5 stops were made.
Thanks all (some of our club members made monetary donations) & a special thanks to the Opel Club CT guys & girls that were out on the streets last night for the club. Your dedication to your club & your passion for giving back to your community is outstanding.
Be thankful you have a warm plate of food & a roof over your head. Last night was yet another eye-opener for us.
