Anyone catch the opening & the 1st match this past Sat?

Both were poor :thumbdown:

And why is CT Stadium not hosting any matches? :thumbdown:

Didnt watch the match.

Not exactly sure why but from what I understand is that City of Cape Town don’t want any matches to be hosted here because it will be costly for the COCT and that no income will be generated from this event. They see it as a huge expense and a waste of tax payers money.

If thats the case, why build the stadium?

^ It was a last minute decision to bring World Cup matches to Cape Town. COCT predicted the problems they ^ might have with the stadium and cost of running it , but not to have hosted WC games in CapeTown would have been unwise. COCT try to spend money where its needed, Housing, infrastructure, education etc. And they try to manage their expenditure properly to benefit the people
