Sunday 4th October 2009 (Race entries Thursday 1 October 2009 8pm-9pm) Gates will open at 8:00am and racing starts at 9:00am until +-5pm 400meter Drag EventStreet Car Competition (Brackets) Club Competition (Brackets) Gymkhana for all streetcars Scrutineering from 08:00am – 10:00am It’s nearly that time again. It was a month and a half sabbatical from no racing, the guys and gals patience wore very thinly and now we can gladly announce that the next MSA drag racing event less than a week away. There was ample time for vehicles to be prepped and tuned for the next big event. There are new competitors and some not so new making a comeback. At the last race day we saw many of the racers put up some very impressive times, especially in the N/A class. They have made their presence felt and given the turbo class lots to think about. Talking about the turbo class, these boys were not playing around either, ie, Tolla Daniels had an interesting or lets rather say scary run when his car stepped out in 5th gear but he managed to control it very well. Then we have Luc Lucessi once again putting up the fastest time for the day of a 10.7sec. There were some interesting Toyota’s namely, Seraaj Rylands did a 12.1s in his 1800 8v Toyota corolla slant front in full street trim. Will be interesting to see what this street car can do with proper tyres and without short shifting. Then we had Glen Harker doing a 11.1. Coming back to the N/A class, Elton Scullard was testing out his wheelie bars, just trying to find the “sweet spot”. Bradley van Rooi needs to adjust to his semi sequential gearbox and this will be interesting to see what new times he will be putting up. Morne Cloete in his Honda Civic doing a 13.3 first time was damn impressive. With all this said, it is going to be a very eventful race day and we wish all our competitors good luck. Lets hope that we have good weather and a nice big turnout of both racers and spectators. See you all on Sunday.
