I'd love to do it myself but i dont have the space to work. What i'd like to do is buy the engine and then the chip myself and take it to someone to have it done. If i get a full stand alone management chip will i need anything else? I assume that takes care of the ECU? You assume correct. You will need full stand alone management I think, for the Z18xe I know Diktator 60-2 or gotech pro/pro-x works, MSX could also work but im not 100% sure on that one. Supply and fit you looking at about R4500. There are always other parts besides the engine and management that you night need, i.e. gearbox and clutch maybe, brake upgrade etc engine mountings should be ohk, but just confirm that. Best is to speak to someone who has done it.

I Think for now i want to get the standard 1.8 into the car, get it driving and reliable. Then i will start playing with the likes of brake upgrades, gearboxes and coilovers. The standard power shouldnt be to much for the existing setup. But i agree i need to chat to some one who has done this before.

Thundercat wrote: Z18xe FTW! Been done many times, relatively not a difficult conversion, will be pushing out about 91kw stock, depending on the condition of the motor ofcourse. When I got my car i was pushing out 85kw stock, with a few breathing mods im at 99kw now. You can consider KSD or Modjects here in brackenfell, they did Wayne-vxl's conversion on his ute. They did a good job on his. Or if you wanna DIY, try chatting to purcell You are mistaken my friend I did my own engine conversion, mojects just fitted the gotech for me and Isak tuned it.

Walnut wrote: How difficult a convertion is it? Not difficult at all. Its basically like fitting a standard corsa engine back in to your corsa. To fit the engine will take you less than a day. +- Three days to have your stand alone system supplied, fitted and road tune. Then +- half a day wait to have it dyno'd. So in +- a week you will be running ecotec.
