Hey peoples, I'm not such a sound foendie. So I got a set of 6x9 - Pioneer - 400W 3 way's. That's runningdirectly from my deck (very bad one - came with car).
So I got a Ice Power 3000W Sub, so want to know what amp must I get to pump that thing at full potential. My buddy told me a monoblock.Mids in doors a must? Options please & what's a decent head unit to invest in.

Ice Power Amp (Pro Series) 3200w 4ch and the u can put your 6x9 `s and sub on it!!

I was running an Ice Power Pro Series Amp Monoblock 3900 watt on twin 1400 Watt 12" Pioneer DVC's a few years back, those pumped quite well.

I think a 3200w may be a little small for a 3000 watt sub.

Awesome dudes, now I know what to look for. 3900 amp it is then, lokl. Mid's? What is a decent deck to run? Sony GT560U (think that's the model name). Its a 52x4. Buddy ran it on his & gave decent sound

not to confuse u but i would recommend a JVC Head unit. Had a Sony GT490U 3 years ago, swopped to JVC last year. the difference was audible. The JVC Line output (The signal that goes to your amps ) is just superior (4.8Volts more is better) to the Sony decks ( 2 Volts). Just my 2 cents

Ok, so 1st things first. What is the RMS rating of the sub? Because that is important to know before I can give you advice on which amp to get.

Secondly the pricier Pioneers have 9v pre-outs and also have atleast 3, 1 for sub, and the other 2 for front and rear. So ja, I would rather get a Pioneer than a JVC or Sony. I have owned atleast 1 of each of those decks.

Its abit hard to give advice also because we need to know your budget, but ja, that is just my 2c. Also check which ohms the sub will run at as that will also help to choose an amp.

but @DJ7 if u compare a JVC KD-R416 , Cheapest JVC i could find @ R899 has 5V Outputs
to the priciest Pioneer i could find a DEH-80PRS @ R4500 also 5V and the second priciest
pioneer DEH-X9550BT @R2500 also 5V . Any cheaper pioneer is running 3 or 4 volt line outputs.

I used to be a pioneer fan but couldn't find a pioneer with high quality high voltage outputs that compare to the JVC price wise and sound wise.

could u perhaps gimme a model number for a 9V Pioneer deck as i'm looking to up my quality on my system that is running 5V at the moment. and i know JVC dont make 9V decks.

@Slv Gsi Whats your budget? Whats your Sub Impedance and whats the RMS of your sub?
also u need to match the amp with the sub by looking at impedance Etc
also a monoblock would be better power for your sub.

i could recommend a ice power 4000W monoblock @R1499
Specs: ICE POWER 4000.1 MONOBLOCK AMPLIFIER RMS@4OHMS -300W,
-RMS@2OHMS-750W, RMS@1OHM-1500W

that should be just over enough power to play your sub leka loud daily.

Wow that's a lot talk that I jack about, lmj. But from what I can read on the sub...
Just states the below:
3000W Max
400W NOM
IPS-312D4
4(horse shoe - ohm) DVC
83oz. Double stacked magnets
Double Aimants DE 2.4kg

That's about all info I know or could read. Budget wise.. I'm looking at spending about 3-4k ish on the sound... Over time. Not once off, ha ah... But I will take what you foendies said & make work of that.

Ok, I have a Pioneer DEH 9450UB deck, and see the latest Pioneers are now 4v outputs. My previous 1 that was stolen was 9v pre-outs. Ok, so while we on this topic, please explain how this helps with the clarity. The Pioneer has an advanced sound engine as well as equalizer built in to help with clarity. JVC's have also never been renowned for clarity. How many SQL cars do you see using JVC decks? Ask yourself why.

Ok so the sound engine does play a big role in sound quality.
It's called the digital to analog conversion process. In this process the hardware and the
Software is important in decoding ur digital cd or mp3 and I believe both jvc and pioneer is more or
Less on par with each other. From their the output to ur speakers that wil be ur MOSFET 45w outputs
This same signal wil be sent via your line outputs to your amps. This signal is in positive and negative
Power pulses. So the more voltage u have the more space their is for ur unit to describe the signal I.e clarity.
Just be sure to check what voltage ur amp can handle bcoz if the voltage is to high and the amp can only take
4 volts and u giving at 9 it wil be distortion I.e no clarity

U can have both. I'm running 4 10" subs and they moer k@k hard but my mids can keep up with them to give well ballenced clear sound
Come to the next hookup and il demonstrate. Dean and a lot of the other guys have heard me play.
