howzit folks, so I'm planning to upgrade to an in-dash dvd deck and been looking around...I found a Necvox player at a nice price compared to the more popular brands like Pioneer,etc...I'm not familiar at all with this brand so wanted to know if anyone has any fairytales or horror stories about this brand???

never heard of it
what does the stockist say? is it reliable & well worth it? feature-wise, how does it compare?
more importantly, is it that big a price diff. to the more popular brands?

CA, the salesman says he's sold a few and customers are very happy...also says that Necvox made most the 1st LDC screens that were ever fitted, but at the time i thought that was just a sales pitch...
anyway, i went digging for info and found that Necvox is in fact a popular ICE brand over in the far east but its almost unheard of here coz outside the far east, its either re-named or the screens are fitted to decks which carry other (more internationally popular) brand names...turns out that Necvox make the screens that come OEM-fitted in ALL Toyota's and Subaru's manufactured in Japan, as well as some UK-manufactured cars...Necvox is a division of Taiwanese parent company whose been engaged in manufacturing car audio since the early 80's and Necvox itself, the top producer of retractable LCD screens since 1999...ok nuff said, SOLD!!!

..thanks Garth, maybe a few weeks ago but now im well on my way to getting the Necvox deck...was supposed to get it today but i been chained to my desk lately! lol, ima get it and install tomorrow though --> congrats on the holy matrimonies buddy, i still got 9months to go, cheers!
