Opel Club Cape Town

Hey guys so my car is still stock engine- and looks-wise, Im more of a sound guy so here's just a peak at what Im doing to my ride. Still busy with it. will post as I build.

So first off the equipment going into the :
JVC KS-AX6801 monoblock
Kicker Comp D 15 inch dual 4 sub

I use to have an Alpine deck but sold it to upgrade but alas being a student I needed the cash for something else so for now its just the stock deck and stock speakers with a pair of cheap XTC tweeters. so its just the sub and amp for now. Already got 4 gauge cabling from a previous install in the car.

Okay so I started with the amp first. Instead of the usual thing of mounting the amp against the back seat or the back of the sub box I wanted something which was more pleasing to the eye. So I made a little rack for the amp.
The rack is something I built before to go on one of my previous sub emclosures so I just modified it a bit to fit the contours of the boot.



Drilled a couple of holes to run the wires through

Will finish the rack tomorrow hopefully.

Thanks. Okay so today didn't go as planned. sister used my car so I couldnt do much work on it. basically just cut a template for the board that will cover the amp. The idea is for the amp to sit flush with the board.


I know I know it looks terrible. Will make a proper template for cutting when I get the board tomorrow. this just gives an idea of where Im heading.

Sup everyone

Been a little abscent I know. don't worry though, this won't become one of those threads that amount to nothing in the end...hopefully.

Anyway so I have a friend who's helping with the build and we couldn't seem to agree on a final design for the sub box for the past week and half. We changed the design three times already. Box is +-114 liters after sub and port displacement. Tuned to 31/32 Hz for that extra bit of low bass.

This was the first "redesign" . The amp would have moved to the space in front of the sub.

Then we decided to ditch the two ports and make one big one

And then we saw my boot space is gonna be a major issue and eventually decided on this design:

The amp rack will be similar to the first idea with the amp on the left hand side. I bought the wood today and had it cut already at builder's warehouse, they seem to cut alot straighter than me and my circular saw.
Any feedback on the final design? Critisism, advice or whatever is all welcome.

Thanks man. Box is nearly done. Just the port, rings for the sub to be mounted on and internal bracing I still have to finish structural wise.
Just a layout of how I'm doing the install and then the near finished box.



must ma excuse my little MS paint drawing, Solidworks doesn't wanna work on my pc for some reason. The hole on the box ofcourse being where the flared port will be. Will hopefully finish the box by the weekend. And then do the amp rack.
