Sounds like you going to need a decent 5 channel amp then. 4 can work, but will mean you going to run your mids and 6x9s off 2 channels which is going to compromise sound quality a bit.

Budget is important then. Because the Phoenix gold is really good and will be small and so will the polk audio, but they are also more pricy.

That Reference Audio Tivo T100.4 at Soundmatch is more than sufficient for your 6x9's which are rated at 100 RMS. The T100.4 does 95 RMS at 4 ohm. And in bridge mode should do well over 200 RMS if nto close to 300 to run a 10 or 12 inch sub. The Tivo amps are tiny but are really decent amps. The Phoenix Gold Z500 at Soundmatch is also a really good option. 75 rms at 4 ohm for 6x9's and 250 rms bridged for a sub. Also at Soundmatch. The Phoenix gold is the size of a 12 inch sub in terms of length and breadth. The Tivo I think is smaller. R1700 for Tivo and R1800 for Z500.

But then you must run the mids off the deck. 5 channel amps are expensive. Might well buy two amps for thr price of a 5 channel and the 5 channels are usually big as well....there is also a Kenwood amp for R1400 on Takealot.com. a bit bigger in size and less powerful than the other two but still suffiecient for both 6x9's and a sub. 60 rms at 4 per channel and 180 rms bridged. May I ask why you wanna run four 5 inch mids in a Bantam?

Its all good CU draad. And I see, but ja I put a pair of 6.5 inch Phoenix Gold mids in a Hilux bakkie on the standard deck was already a huge improvement over stock so the four 5 inchers will sound nice despite being powered by the deck cause they have relatively high sensitivity so so you dont need much power for them. Really nice brand Phoenix Gold.

Thanks I will give the Phoenix Gold a try!! They sound like decent speakers! Just a Q how do u split the RCA cables if u have 1 cable coming from the deck to a 4channel amp? I know u use a splitter but do u put right to right right or do u put right to left and right? or does it not matter

Yes it is. I would usually put the left rca splitter on the 1st and 3rd channel inputs and the right rca splitter on the 2nd and 4th. Then run the left 6x9 off the 1st channel and right 6x9 off the 2nd channel. Sub will obviously be bridged over 3rd and 4th so it will get both left and right which is what you want.

All good bru. Glad I could help. The Targa amps I haven't worked often with but people say good things about them. Good power from them and great for flexing the neighbourhood windows. Quality wise the Reference Audio and especially the Phoenix Gold will be superior. But with a clean unclipped signal you can go very far....the Targa will also work though. No doubt.

my main reason for going the Targa route is for the size
that d4000 is as small as an A5 sheet of paper and ripped my 12.
recently purchased a polk audio 8" marine sub but havent had chance to get everything installed

recently purchased a polk audio 8" marine sub but havent had chance to get everything installed I see. Im in no way brandbashing Targa. Its like you said bang for buck its up there. Their stuff are pretty solid and can take a lot of abuse. I did a box for a friend's friend with a MM12. Really nice woofer and gets really good output and sounds nice too although the amp running the sub did not do it justice(was an old Calibra). Would love to hear how crisp and tight that MM8 plays on a nice amp so hope you get it installed soon! But sorry back to topic....let us know what you decide to get CU draad.
